My dad has a variable annuity and wants to get rid of it.?

Well first off my dad doesn't speak English very well. He claims that originally his company set up an IRA for him (something like that) and now it has become an Annuity. For 16 years it has sat around 3-5k.

He wants to roll over to an IRA or wants to know what his options are. He is in his mid 50s. I have no idea about these things. Thanks for any help.

muneepenee 		1. step 1 is tu find out wot it reely is. If it is annuity, yu kan alwaes muve it tu a different kumpanee. First, selekt the kumpanee yu wanna put it intu & kontakt em.
They will tell how yu kan "transfer" it (gotta duit legal tu avoid kloes out old annuity). Normally, yu send em the papers yu hav now (or a kopee) & em handel it from theer.
2. me rekmend Vangard...Yu kan selekt from bout 25 mutual funds.
Its a good kumpanee that wont cheet yu.

SamirAhmed 		ask around and locate a financial advisor and ask what options he can offer, most have a mutual fund offering that (in good times) can grow around 10%/year, he will also handle the rollover for you
