Can i start insurance on a new car with a new insurance provider before the current policy run out ?

My current car insurance policy runs out at the end of the month and I will not be renewing with them. I am getting a new car approx 2 weeks before the expiry date. Can i start the insurance with another company and 'overlap' the insurance ?

yea you can do that. once you get the new policy, call your other company and tell them. they will send you a form to sign to cancel the other policy. when you send that back, send proof of insurance with your new company. the old company will cancel Pro Rata and refund any money back to you within a few weeks, since you are cancelling before the actual end of the policy.
